Staff at AFG’s head office in Perth have been pumping the pedals in a bid to help the planet.
AFG held its inaugural Ride2Work event over the course of the week starting October 17.
The event was organised by AFG’s Green Team in a bid to raise awareness about emission-friendly modes of commuting.
Fourteen staff members registered – half of whom do not usually cycle to work. Collectively, the staff notched up 520kms, saving about 125 kg in Greenhouse gas emissions versus driving.
Green Team member Jenni Bunting, lead organiser of the Ride2Work event said participants in Ride2Work arrived at the office feeling happy and productive.
And many of our first-time cyclists say after getting a taste, they planned to cycle to work in future.
